2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK230 Avantgarde
Kompressor
No Reserve
High spec
Final Edition model; 84,330 miles with good service history; electric hood;
heated seats; needs attention for MOT
First
registered in March 2003, this W208 generation Mercedes CLK230 Cabriolet is a
Final Edition model with Avantgarde specification.
Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with a dark grey Nappa
leather and Alcantara interior, it is packed full of goodies which include:
5-speed automatic transmission; sports chassis; Parktronic system; electrically
adjustable heated front seats with memory function; cruise control;
multi-function wood steering wheel; automatically dipping rear view mirror; rain
sensing wipers; Xenon headlamps; MB radio and 10 disc CD plus much else
besides.
Power comes from a supercharged 2.3
four-cylinder engine with 197bhp and 280Nm which gives it a top speed of 147mph
and a 0-62mph time of 8.6 seconds. It has an electrically operated soft top
which is in good condition and functions as it should.
It has covered 84,330 miles to date and comes with a good service
history comprising 9 stamps in the book, the last at 77,000 miles in February
2019. There are also lots of invoices including a £1,322 spend in February 2013
at 55,505 miles which included new front brake discs and pads, new rear brake
pads, new rear shock absorbers plus various other items. It had new front coil
springs in October 2020.
The second owner paid
£29,500 for the car in May 2004 when it had covered 5,000 miles and he and his
wife kept it for 14 years during which time it was registered as G5 ATB. It has
had two owners since. There are five old MOTs, the last of which expired in
October 2021 with just one minor advisory for an anti-roll bar bush. An online
check shows that it failed an MOT test in June this year, principally for
corrosion to the o/s/f suspension component mounting area – check online for
details.
As you can see in the photos, the car
appears to be in generally good condition cosmetically. The engine management
light comes on intermittently and the car idles roughly for a couple of minutes
when started from cold but smooths out quickly and then seems to run fine.
Our onsite engineer has plugged in a diagnostic tool which reveals a “misfire on
cylinder 4; possible ignitor fault” and he suspects it probably needs a new coil
pack.
Supplied with all its original
handbooks, this quality German drop-top is on offer here at no reserve
so the best bid takes it home.
