Extremely rare to see UK supplied from new, 2nd Gen RHD 120A
FII showing just 26,432 miles and one lady owner from new until 2023;
A12 engine - find another!?
Supplied by
Concessionaire Datsun UK Limited of Datsun House, Worthing to its first owner, a
Mrs Wheeler in May 1977 this ever so sweet 2nd Generation Datsun F10
(also known as the Nissan Cherry) series 120A F-II Coupe is a proper time-warp
car, and an incredibly rare sight now on UK roads.
From what we know through the documentation and vendor, the car
looks to be a one owner from new* example, our vendor acquiring the car from Mrs
Wheeler in late 2022 (* and registering it to them in March
2023).
Finished in white, the car looks
wonderfully period, sat upon its correct little 12” steel wheels, the simple but
effective Coupe styling looking ever so retro and cute.
Under the bonnet, we find the 1171cc A12 four cylinder petrol
engine which features a twin choke and Hitachi carb helping it develop 69bhp and
95NM of torque driving the front wheels via four-speed manual transmission. The engine was considered to a durable
smooth unit at the time with variations of the venerable A12 engine used in
racing.
Inside the cabin, we find black cloth
and vinyl seating with enough space in the back for some smaller passengers,
original radio, wind up windows, cigarette lighter, manual choke and heater
controls.
The Datsun looks to have covered just
26,432 miles, which is understood to be genuine. The history file includes the V5C
showing one former keeper, the original warranty and service booklet with just
one hand-written entry dated 1978 at 1,095 miles by Howletts Garage of Suffolk
where Mrs Wheeler lived plus the original owner’s manual.
Fantastic and ready to enjoy this is a super opportunity to acquire
a Japanese Gem and add it your collection.
