1962 LAND ROVER SERIES IIA
Later 200TDi engine
fitted; overdrive; recent new canvas tilt and new tyres; well-maintained and in
regular use; keeps up with modern traffic; current enthusiast owners 10
years
Dating
from April 1962, this S2A was fitted with a 200TDi engine about a dozen years
ago, a well-known transplant which transforms the performance of the vehicle and
makes it much less tiring to drive on long journeys. With 111bhp on tap, it
easily keeps up with modern traffic.
Our
vendor and his brother acquired the vehicle in 2010 to use as a workhorse around
the family estate in the Cotswolds. Proper Land Rover enthusiasts, they have
maintained it carefully ever since, fitting many new parts including a new fuel
tank; radiator; alternator; clutch master and slave cylinders; front and rear
springs; tyres; acoustic floor mats plus much else besides, all detailed in
copious invoices on file. In 2015 it was also fitted with a new cambelt and a
new Exmoor Trim canvas tilt.
Only
reluctantly for sale due to impending relocation, we are told that it has always
proved totally dependable during their 10-year ownership and will be sorely
missed.
