1932 BSA TW-32 Sport

Nicely restored 3-wheeler in need of a good shake-down

Purchased by the vendor as a part-completed project, he has broken the back of the job, had the car running and completed the registration formalities so it is essentially ready for the new owner to drive and enjoy.

It came to him as a bare chassis and engine - both dating from the summer of 1932. The engine and gearbox were reputed to have been rebuilt for a BSA club member by Mike Scott Coomber  - the go-to guru on matters BSA and author of the club's repair and maintenance manual.

A new body frame was constructed in ash using detailed drawings supplied by the club in the style of the TW-32 Sports and then fabric covered as it would have been in period. All in all, a very nice job.

The car was then rebuilt using many original parts, although it is fitted with a 'Dynalator', a modern alternator hidden in a Lucas Dynamo housing which is now 12 volts for safety and security.

It has been well trimmed and prepared and has been sitting for several years while the V5C paperwork has been sorted out. It is now registered OXS 171 and ready to go. The file also includes copy parts books and there is also a manual and some club magazines included too.

This rare trike has been running recently, but not while it has been with us onsite so will require a careful start up and shake down before use. It is fitted with the correct and rare Solex 30-FV carburettor as fitted to the Sports models so promises some brisk and fun road miles for its lucky new owner.
