VW Campers are all very well, but they are pretty cramped
and barely have enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding. What you
really need for a proper motoring holiday is one of these bad boys – all 34 feet
and 3 inches of it. After all, who would want to stay in a Youth Hostel when for
a similar price you could stay at the Ritz?
This 1996 Winnebago Adventurer 34RQ makes your average
camper look like a rabbit hutch. It has every conceivable home comfort, sleeps
six, and even has a hydraulically operated slideout wall that liberates an extra
39 square feet of living space.
Imported from America by the vendor in early 1997, it has
covered only 44,160 miles and is powered by a 5.9-litre Cummins turbo diesel
straight-six producing 230bhp and 460lb/ft of torque with automatic
transmission. The exterior dimensions are 34’ 3" long, 11’ 9" high and 8’ 5"
wide.
The exact spec is far too detailed to list in full here,
but is amply covered in the sales brochure, the operation manual and the
maintenance book that all come with the vehicle. Highlights include: heating;
air conditioning; reversing camera; microwave oven; 3-burner range; glass-doored
oven; fridge/freezer; double stainless steel sink; shower cubicle; washbasin;
toilet; 3 swivelling chairs; sofabed; one double bed; two twin beds; dining
area; storage units; awning; satellite TV system etc.
Driven some 50 miles to the sale, it has an MOT until
September 2022 and is ready to whisk you wherever you wish to go.
